Out to pasture
Hello Noxcrew Community
I hope everyone in the UK enjoyed their bank holiday weekend, it's always nice to have a day off. While we had a nice break ourselves, Noxcrew’s back to work with a bit of a change to our workflow.
First of all, a bit of disappointing news. Due to things beyond our control, Codename: Cow has been delayed and won’t be worked on for a little while. It's a bit of a bummer, considering all the work that has gone into it so far, but ultimately we feel this will make the map better in the long run and give us more time to make it look fabulous! Don’t worry, this isn’t another BLOZARK situation, Codename: Cow just needs a little longer to cook and we want to give it that time.
This means that DvD has jumped straight to the top of our priority list and it’s really moving ahead as a result. The map is finally in the ‘kinda playable’ state, which means that all the fiddly technical bits are done and it does play pretty well, it’s just not 100% ready for the rest of the team to come charging in and tear it apart yet.
We’re hoping that by the start of next week Stu will have smoothed out the last few wrinkles and we’ll be able to get in for testing. Once there we can get to work, find out where the strengths and weaknesses are and polish that baby up until it gleams!
DvD should only take until the autumn/fall to bring up to par so we’ll have plenty of time to start working on holiday maps (yes, we really have to start that early) No plans as yet for what we’ll be doing during that period of chaos but, as usual, I’ll let you know any news as it happens.
In the meantime, rather than only reporting on one map for a month, I’m going to double down on getting you some cool behind the scenes features on our past maps, from our latest release to old favourites (of course I’ll still keep you up to date on anything exciting as it happens.) I have a few interesting articles waiting in the wings so keep an eye out for them over the next few weeks
I know it seems like a weird time right now but I can assure you, when we kick things off again, you’ll know why we took our time.
Have a great week!
Noctis
